We have Comcast as well - our bill for expanded cable (no premiums) and Broadband internet is around 100 bucks a month total.

We might have to increase that as Stewart is dying for the Fox Soccer Channel

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Well, we could get a regular US contract for the phone (no fancy international long distance thing) since I could also use phone cards or even skype (also I've heard of numbers you dial before the area code and you'll get calls to Germany but you are charged like you made a call in the US). The Problem seems to be the internet. I have heard from several people that it should not be 60 bucks but somewhere from 29 to 49 Dollars. I think we are getting screwed here. gotta call them.

yup, that price for the internet is way too high. i'm paying that for a satellite system connection as it's that or dialup where i live.

another option you have is to get a regular phone and use one of the many internet companies to talk to germany, i've got one that i used to talk to nessa in brazil and it has germany on the plan too.

I called Embarq and they said that they could change our internet to Earthlink and then we'd pay 45 Dollars a month. I don't know about that, since it's still pretty high. Also, I removed all our local channels so the cost for cable TV went down from 44.99 Dollars to 39.99 Dollars. It's not much but a beginning. I gotta talk to my husband about everything. I like my little "project" though. It's interesting to learn about all those different options.

is that earthlink still the same speed or better than the existing connection?
