How should I assemble it?

The last step for me to do is assemble the K-1 into a nice black binder and send it off! In what order should the papers be placed? When the person reviewing the package opens up the binder, what's the first paper they need to see from beginning to end? Need help asap because I'm trying to mail it before the week is over.

I followed the guidelines here http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

I put the cover letter first, indicating whats in the package in the order I put in. I believe it doesn't really matter what order as long as you have everything in there :)

I did the same as above. Drafted a cover letter, then assembiled everything in the order of the cover letter, two hole punched it at the top, made some divider pages with the tabs at the bottom, and used the acco fastners to hold it all together.

At a minimum all you have to do is avoid using staples and the like, and just bascially make the package easy to disasemble. I'm sure my dividers and labels were pretty much a wasted effort, but it helped me organize the petition and ensure I didn't forget to leave anything out of it.

I just followed the VJ guide here and used binder clips to group papers into logical groups. Had a table of contents to list everything I included, in the order that I had them stacked. A cover letter on top of everything.

Oh also, I'm making a personal check out...who do I make it out to and how much? I was told it would be $340.00.

Make check Payable to: U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Correct. Fee is $340.

Do not bother using a binder. They will take all the papers out of it, put them in their own standard folder and toss your binder. Assembly tips: http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

Information on the current fees, who to make out the check to, where to mail it, etc. can always be found in the in form instructions. You should always read through a form's instructions to make sure you have everything required, send the correct fee and mail it to the right address. http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

 Exactly!

Just use paperclips to keep like minded documents together, slide it all into an envelope and mail it. No need to use binders or anything like that. Once your petition is received they will TEAR IT APART and reassemble it how they want it, in the order they want it. For what it's worth you probably don't need to use paperclips, the benefit is more for you before you mail it.
