I agree, 2.5 months is not that big of a big jump, but that's not really the issue. The problem is the fact that the VSC stopped approving F2A cases last year and their processing time got stuck at January 2011 for over a year. Consequently there are loads of people who will be current next month but who cannot be given a visa number because their cases are not completed yet. Once they are through the NVC process they will need visa numbers and there may not be enough to accommodate everyone and move the cut-off dates forward.

On a positive note, as I said before, the possible retrogression won't be very severe, and the cut-off dates should recover fairly quickly afterwards.

Indeed, someday there will be regression but I do not think it will be this year.

I've got a question: How did you find information about the number of cases received VSC after January 2011?

I've got a question: How did you find information about the number of cases received VSC after January 2011?

From the USCIS website - I hope this link works: http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=5&office=6&charttype=1.

Please note that the numbers reflect petitions in all family preference categories, not just F2A. The numbers also do not take into account any derivatives that may have been added to petitions after filing.

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony

It might take up to eight weeks after your case is complete to receive an interview letter. Good luck, I hope you won't have to wait that long.
