video at the link.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) began speaking just before noon Wednesday on the Senate floor in opposition to the nomination of John Brennan to lead the CIA, saying that he planned to speak “for the next few hours” in a rare talking filibuster.

“I will speak until I can no longer speak,” Paul said. “I will speak as long as it takes, until the alarm is sounded from coast to coast that our Constitution is important, that your rights to trial by jury are precious, that no American should be killed by a drone on American soil without first being charged with a crime, without first being found to be guilty by a court.”

Paul began his filibuster at 11:47 a.m. Eastern. Around the one-hour mark, he acknowledged “I can’t talk forever” and said his throat was getting dry.

Aiyo, bad planning for an otherwise stellar performance.

cool ! more fellas ! [an update]

But after more than three hours, Paul got some help. Lee joined the filibuster at 2:57 p.m. and Cruz at 3:08 p.m. The three senators began taking turns talking, with Lee and Cruz alternately asking Paul questions. Moran joined at 3:28 p.m., and Wyden jumped in in the filibuster’s fifth hour, at 3:53 p.m. Rubio became the sixth senator to take part at 4:19 p.m., and Chambliss joined at 4:37 p.m.

Yay !!! No need for Depends, after all.

So if'n you click the link in post #1, you can view the live fillabustering - it's mondo cool !

Been watching but its mostly him taking sips of a drink and thumbing through binders..

Though he *just now* mentioned ending it.. Got me all excited then he switched back to drones and a resolution about not allowing firing drones within the country on those that are not currently threatening lives. He was shut down...
