NVC still don't have our case!?

They have it. NVC is as bad as USCIS at updating and their phone operators are the same ones. You will get a letter from them when they forward it to the consulate. Trying to get any further information usually results in this frustration and is of ZERO value. When you receive your KEV number you can schedule a medical appointment but in Kiev those are done virtually on a walk in basis so it is sort of like a dog chasing a car...what will he do with it if he catches it?

You cannot schedule an interview until the consulate actually receives the case from NVC and enters it in their system, usually 2-3 weeks after you get your letter from NVC. Plenty of time to schedule a medical exam. Most Kiev applicants schedule the exam for the day before the interview, especially if they have to travel to Kiev.

Our problem is its missing between the USCIS and the NVC. The USCIS says it left but the NVC says they don't have it yet.

This is horrible, we try calling them and they act like we're doing something bad by calling them. We wouldn't be calling them if they were processing our files correctly. The frustrating part about it, that no one gives you the right answer. They don't care. Ugh

our case missed between USCIS and NVC, NVC will not send it to Kiev before we send to NVC our documents. CR1 is bit different then K1 visa..

They have it.

Alas, Gary - there's a huge issue with local offices - many have been bundling up casefiles only once a month, to return to MSC. MSC will forward it to NVC, sure - but these local offices are really wonky.

To anyone reading this - I've read (here) about the casefile shooting out of the local office WHEN a Congressional Inquiry is started.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Alas, that doesn't work for IR-1/CR-1 visas, Gary, as there's a huge set o stuff to do at NVC. Perhaps you were remembering yer K-1 visa chasing days? NVC sets the appointment for Kiey for these two visa types.
