Hey everyone!

My fiance sent in our package in january. On the 30th of Jan he recieved an email saying that the case had been accepted and he should receive an I-797 in the mail in the next 2 weeks. He never received anything from them, so he called in february and they told him that everything looks to be going well and we should have our visa completed with a decision (accepted or declined) by July 4th/13. Now it's march, another 2 weeks later, and we still havent received the original letter he was supposed to get with the acceptance and our case number on it. On the site if we check case status it just says "On January 30, 2013, your Alien Registration number has changed relating to your I-129f PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service"

Should we have received something by now? Should there be more?

As everyone is, going through this process, I'm just nervous and any advice would greatly help :)

Thanks!

Not receiving the NOA-1( first I-797)within a month of issuance seems to be a bit too long. But the message RE: A number changing is normal. Just means your A number has been assigned. This used to be done near the end of the process, but seems since late November/early December it is now being done right after NOA-1.

I might be wrong, but for the past few weeks, didn't it say at the top of the case status page that it might take up to 45 days to receive the NOA1 in the mail? I just checked and it's not there anymore…but then it would make sense. I'd wait another 2 weeks or so before calling them about it.

Adjustment of Status:

07/09/2013 filed AOS/EAD/AP

07/15/2013 NOAs

08/07/2013 AOS RFE

08/09/2013 Biometrics

08/17/2013 RFE response received at NBC

09/11/2013 EAD/AP in production

09/19/2013 received EAD/AP

11/18/2013 potential interview waiver case notification

03/17/2014 Greencard approved and in production

If your petition shows up in the USCIS database and you can find it when you go there, why do you need the hard-copy I-797? I know, peace of mind, but if your packet is showing up as being processed when you enter your number in their database, it means they are processing it. After I received my email confirmation, I didn't really care if I got the I-797. The email notification gave me enough info to check my status on line.
