I'm in the UK and my wife is in the USA. I sent her the form and photos we needed for the I-130. However I sent her a passport size photgraph as that is what is said on the instructions with the I-130 but in the guidlines on the travel . state . gov (I can't post links yet) it says the photos need to be 2 x 2 inches exactly.

Which size do I need as whenever I send anything to her it takes several days even with the express delivery and we need to get this done as she is coming to visit me at the end of march for 2 months. I think I know the answer though :(

This is very stressful and we're only at the petition stage.

Are the photos close enough to 2"x2" ? I actually submitted British sized ones with my approved I-129F and I-130.

The photos for the I-130 are just used for identification purposes. You'll need to be more careful with the ones you bring to the embassy.

If you want to chance it like I did, then that is your risk. It is possible that you could get an RFE for it if you get a super picky IO.

We used passport-sized ones for our approved I-130 as well. For the IV package, we sent the proper 2x2 photos, since we didn't want to take any chances with them. You should be okay, unless someone's having a really bad day. :)

Ok cheers that makes me feel a bit better, I can't post new ones until the end of the day so if anyone else posted passport size photos please let me know what happened :)
