Still no texts or emails about EAD/AP, but status on website hasn't changed from card production, so we're hoping it's the real deal.

Well, if you have the status update online, you can generally just use that. The update mentions waiting up to 30 days before delivery. I wouldn't worry too much until after that 30 days and nothing shows up in the mail. Texts, emails, and status updates are all hit and miss really. I never received an email when my I-129f petition was approved, but it doesn't mean anything other than the system not being 100% reliable.

We had the same updates 2 weeks ago and we received the card last sat. It took about 10 days i think after it says about the card production. But then you should see an update about them mailing it to you. Some people get a tracking number, i never did. But after it says it was mailed, it only 2days and we got the actual card. Good luck!

March 5th sent AOS package

I-485

I-765

March 12th received NOA for both

March 18th received appointment letter for Biometric and finger print

April 4th Biometric and finger print taken

April 12th received text message on cell phone that "Your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS is now ready for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview."

When do you think my Work Permit Card be in the mail?

Hi there,

Good luck to both of you on the rest of your journey..

I noticed that you are now for interview scheduling and I just wanted to asked if you have received your EAD/SSN as yet?

EAD/AP card received today! So happy, now we'll tackle the DMV next!

Btw, should we go to social security and get a new card without the employment restriction on it?

Congrats! Got ours today 06/10/13. Sooner or later, you will want a new card, yes. I can't say how urgent it would be now that you have your EAD, but I would do it just for the sake of consistency and to minimize confusion down the road with potential employers.

I agree with TnJ. I applied for a new card two weeks ago. It hasn't come in the mail yet though.

Thanks for the info guys. We ventured to the SSA and they updated the status in their computer. The person who helped us said that she wasn't sure if it is going to remove the "work authorization with DHS approval" on the new card, but we should get a new card in the mail in about a couple of weeks. So we'll see. I agree it was a good idea to update status with SSA, so that potential employers won't have any problems when they check the SSN.

Thanks guys for the helpful info.

Now I guess we wait and wait for the green card.

We got the new SSN card but it still says the same thing. Oh well, at least it'll be updated in their system.

You're lucky, I am still waiting for my new card. I did receive a receipt on Thursday saying that I should receive my new card within two weeks. It actually also stated that I am still only authorized for work with DHS authorization (so I guess that won't be changed until we have our Green Cards), but what was important to me was that my name got changed from my maiden to my married name in order to minimized problems with the DMV and employers/E-Verify.
