Hello,

My family had received a 2 year conditional Green Card. When I filed for Removal of Condition, USCIS informed us that that immigration officer should have given them a 10 year Green Card instead of 2 year Green Card. They advised us to file Renewal of Green Card. So we filed that. After filing we did not receive the Biometric Appointment letter for some time so I contacted USCIS. They said that we had sent that letter (which we never got). After my request they sent a copy of the letter. My question is that has anyone in the situation where you did not have the original Biometric Appointmewnt letter & had to take the copy of it?

Does USCIS is ok with taking a copy of the Biometric Appointment Letter instead of the original?

I appreciate your responses.

Thanks & Best Regards

Our local office emailed my wife's oath letter, apparently on a scanner that wasn't cleaned for the last several years. Printed that out, was barely legible, but it worked. If that is the copy they sent you, use it. Apparently during your AOS you were already married for two years. That should have been corrected at that time.

At that time, never even heard of the USCIS, sure had a lot of studying to do. For some reason, my stepdaughter's I-130 I filled out to petition for her was misplaced, but already had a copy of it and proof with a canceled check it was paid for. Still caused a 45 delay for her, damned, that USCIS is slow.

Yes its ok to take in copy, Mail does get lost and sometimes the address is incorrectly entered. Check your address make sure its correct on the letter. Usually the local office knows you will be coming in for the exam so should not be an issue.
