The visa bulletin for Sep 2016 has F3 at DEC04. That's an additional 6 years!

I think he's better off opting out of F1 to remain in F2B, immigrate and then marry and file for his wife. Two and a half years is surely easier than the alternative.

Thanks :)

hi

that's their decision, even if the wait were that long, they would come together, and if they had a child, all of them would come together

they would wait together as a family in their country

if not, he can't marry before he enters the country, he must remain unmarried until he goes through customs and enters the country, then he can go back home to marry his girlfriend, come back and file for her

Does anybody know what is the processing timeframe(months, years, etc) to convert an F3 visa category to F1, I had sent the required documents month and half ago and have not heard anything from them? My case is still in initial review in USCIS(since 2013)

Thanks

I am re4ading this post and find it interesting. Does this mean that if one files for an umarried son and he gets married while waiting he can change his status to married son and still keep his priority date.? Not only that he can bring his wife with him?  what about a son that gets married and then during the 7-10 years gets divorced?

Either way PD will remain the same, only waiting time will extend or shorten.
