I do still have anoher question...... does this mean sponsor/petitioner should have money to provide for them cos if she doesnt have it her beneficiaries will be denied of visa? plus how much does it really cost i mean NVC processing all? cos i wanted to know all the information cos i do not know what to do how it goes cos we do not wanna missed something ... mom has NVC case number now invoice id number and beneficiary number, here in the letter from NVC,, and also DS3032 letter so we have no IDEA how far we are and how long this process.. thanks

If the petitioner cannot meet the poverty guidelines he needs a joint sponsor (any USC or LPR willing to sign the Affidavit of Support). You need approx $ 800 (IV fee + medical fee + police cert + GC cost + document cost (getting original BC & MC)) for each person (beneficiary) to complete the process. This is just an approximate amount. It may be more, it may be less depending on the country where you are. Be sure to follow instructions as they come because the case will be cancelled if you did not respond within 1 year of instructions being sent.

Hi mellow you are such a big help thanks! but i hope u will not get irritated with my questions, cos i really wanted to help my mom we do not have a lawyer for this cos we cant afford plus grandma is in her 80s and living solo, which means can't provide for all the requirements for her children,, where can i find the poverty guideline? can u please send the link? thanks

Yes send your stepdad's BC too. Yes F3 allows the spouse and minor children to go together with the principal beneficiary. For F3 Philippines it might take approx 8 months to be current since current PD now is Dec 1992.

i thought it will be more than one year thanks.. again

You have to send another email about changing your category to F3 because it seems that they only do one action at a time (sometimes you wonder if they are morons ? ). It looks as if your category in their file is still F1 based on the above data. Keep emailing them until you see that their file already shows F3.

My father was recently naturalized.

My brother's petition is in F2B and he's considering getting married after the category moves to F1. After they confirm the conversion to F1 he'll request the follow-up conversion to F3.

If he does, will he still have the same priority date? What forms and fees does he need to file after F3 conversion?

His priority date is at the end of this year.

hi

he doesn't have to wait, the nvc can directly convert to F3, as long as your dad has the certificate to prove that he is a USC, your dad can send a copy of the certificate and a copy of your brother's marriage certificate with a letter and case number, explaining his change of status and your brother's new status

the priority date always remains the same, the category is what changes

the wait as a married child of a USC takes longer, so he must forget about the categories for unmarried as he will be under the F3 category if he decides to marry

The visa bulletin for Sep 2016 has F3 at DEC04. That's an additional 6 years!

I think he's better off opting out of F1 to remain in F2B, immigrate and then marry and file for his wife. Two and a half years is surely easier than the alternative.

Thanks :)
