I'm trying to renew my employment authorization. It expires June 17th, 2013. The instructions on USCIS will not load, even though I've updated my Adobe Reader and restarted my computer, I guess it's down or something.

1) What do I need to include with the renewal form? Copies of my EAD, etc, what else?

2) 12 - How do I know my USICS office that I applied to the first time? On the Timeline here, it says it was likely Chicago National Office. Do I just put that? For the 'date(s)', do I only add the date it was validated?

3) 13 - Place of Last Entry into the US - On my original form, I have "Edmonton, AB" because I was told as soon as I went through Customs I was considered to be on "US soil". Is this right, would it be Los Angeles, CA, where my flight landed?

4) 15 - Current Immigration Status - Would that be Permanent Resident, since we're now married?

Thanks for your help.

Your POE is where you showed your K-1 and gave the sealed envelope. I believe in your case it is Edmonton, right?

You are not a permanent resident yet. Being married doesn't grant you automatically permanent residency. You will be if your AOS is approved. Your status is something like "Pending Adjustment of status".

Also, when they sent my original EAD card, it came with a tear off portion that says it will help speed up my application for a renewal or replacement. It was the piece of paper my card was attached to and has barcodes and such. Do I include a COPY of this or the ORIGINAL document?

Thanks.

So I submitted my EAD renewal, and it was sent back to me. It says they need proof that my I-485 was submitted, they want my Notice of Action. All I have, all I remember receiving, was my TRANSFER notice, saying they were transferring my application to a new office. I can't find or never received a Notice of Action that saying it's in process.

Is the transfer notice enough? What can I do if it isn't what they want?

You need the NOA1 for the I-485. You never received this? It was the first mail you received, letting you know they cashed the check and accepted your apps for initial processing. You should have gotten 3 of them if you also applied for AP.

In your timeline you have a NOA1 date of 4/23. How do you know this date if you never got the letter? You culled it from the online system?

Yes. It was on the USCIS website and my tranfer notice.

Hmm... I'm not sure what you can do without that notice. Do you have a copy of your biometrics notice? I would ask the people at INFOPASS...

I never received a letter saying my 'check was cashed'!?

All I got from them was:

1. We transferred you I-485 to Cali for faster processing

I never received one for my EAD either, not a NOA anyway. I have the slip of paper that came with my card, but that's it.

Hmm, well I don't know. You were supposed to get an NOA1 each from each application (3 total). Now it is almost a year later, so it seems way too late to try to track that down. I might try with the bio notice and the transfer notice and see if they accept it, but there is a chance they reject it again. It's up to you whether you want to try or if you want to make Infopass and ask them. Good luck.
