I-94 & Visa Packet

My fiance received his visa packet from the embassy today it contained his passport with the visa glued inside and a thick sealed envelope. I was looking at the AOS guide and it asks for a copy of the I-94. Do we get the I-94 after we go through POE or were we supposed to get it from the embassy?

Yes, you will get I-94 at point of entry. It is a little white piece of paper.

That's right. On the plane they ask you if you have a visa. They give you the white I-94 form. One part of it you have to fill in. When you get to passport control you hand the officer your passport, the I-94 form, and the envelop with you got from the embassy.

The officer is going to open the package and ask you questions. In my case he told me about my rights with my visa. He filled in the small part of the I-94, stapled this part in my passport and stamped my passport and I was good to go. Of course they took fingerprints and picture and there was bagage control and all of that....

They also have them in the airport before going through immigration and handing over your sealed envelope. Depending on your departure/destination airport, the might do it this way.

That's how it worked when I flew the last time.

Fill it out, hand it over to the officer taking the envelope and make sure he staples it into the passport before your fiancee's running off to reunite with you for good.

Every flight I've taken back to the US they hand out the I-94s on the plane to those who need them along with the customs forms. Nancy got her I-94 on the plane. In addition, if you don't receive it on the plane you should be able to pick up a form at the table where they have all the other forms before going through immigration.
