Fast Interview Appointment

People who wait 6, 7 , 8, or more months are usually waived from an interview.

You may still have your EAD/AP approved. Or they may not approve it at all.

So it is actually a good thing to get an interview? But we have no idea on which creteria they make a decision to give an interview or not?

That doesn't make any sense to me at all... I checked the processing times in DC, they are processing AOS from 8 months ago... Is this reliable at all, or should we just not expect to have any idea on when and how we'll get the interview or AOS?

Good luck in your visa journey!

Hey guys don't get too excited if your status changed to Testing and interview. It doesn't mean you ar schedule. The only person who canbe sure about the interview is the first guy or girl who posted with there letter saying the date . The only people who are in testing and interview, you can be in that stage for months. I stayed in that staged for two months before I actually got my interview letter. But I don't blame you for being excited, cause I was too when I saw that status update.so it is normal to have your update to change a month after you file. But getting the letter a month after you file is abnormal and really fast.

Good luck to you all in your process. I have my interview in April.

Yes, people who are scheduled for an interview are more lucky because their process is pretty fast.

It's quite random, I would say you have 50% chances of having an interview. It may depends on how busy is your local USCIS office. If they are busy, chances are that your case will stay at NBC and be processed there (long wait). If interview, NBC will transfer it to your local office. Nobody can really predict if a case will have an interview or no. I noticed that the processing times given by the USCISare not very reliable. Best is to look at the processing times on VJ, from other members dealing with the same USCIS office.

But really, it's best not to expect to have any precise idea on how long it's going to take. Just to know that it can 3 months to more than a year. That's why applying for EAD/AP is a good idea.

We actually got just an interview appointment, not a letter saying that was coming, they've already assigned our interview date, April 3. So strange. I was just assuming we'd have months to wait. This is good. Of course now we get to stress about an interview, but we have nothing to hide or worry about, but it's still stressful. Now to research a bit preparing for the interview!

It seems to go faster these days. We sent package on January 22nd and our interview is March 21st. Less than 60 days

Adjusting from B1/B2

Exactly 3 months from the day we got married till the day I had both SSN and GREENCARD in hand !

Day 1 01/22/2013 AOS package sent

Day 8 01/28/2013 NOA 1 received

Day 15 02/04/2013Biometrics appt letter for 2/25/2013

Day 16 02/05/2013 Succesful walk in biometrics 20 days early

Day 25 02/14/2013 USCIS status changed to Testing and Interview ready for interview scheduling

Day 31 02/20/2013 Email notification that my interview is scheduled for March 21st

Day 57 03/19/2013 EAD/AP card ordered

Day 59 03/21/2013 Interview at 10.30 am Seattle Approved

Our interview will be in San Francisco. I guess I was somehow worried that having it so fast was something 'bad since we just weren't expecting it for a long time. I won't complain, but of course now I'm worried about how much stuff to bring to the interview. We are still in the process of adding her to various accounts, utilities, etc. I hope we have enough. But we kinda thought we had more time and weren't in a huge rush to get every one of those things done.

I think we'll be fine, we've owned a Condo together in the Philippines and had a joint bank account there for over a year and a half, we have some utilities here, phone and stuff, she's on my credit card and bank accounts here. So I think we'll be OK.

It's hopefully more important that we have the rest of that stuff done by the ROC interview 2 years from now.

 I would say not to worry! we sent our paperwork and got an RFE, we send it back and got an answer a week after that and right away our interview too! Today we had our interview and got approved, the whole process was less than a year! I thought it would be about 2 years, I guess not :P:thumbs: I was super nervous too! we didn't have any bills or joint accounts but our pictures helped a lot :) good luck !

I'm happy for those of you who have interviews. I think my husband is in the no-interview pile and we'll be in that dreaded limbo at MSC. NOA1 was on December 27, Biometrics was in January, and still no movement.

Wow, that was very fast! Congrats on getting approved! We filed the very end of Sept and have our interview next week. I think it sometimes depends on where your local office is. Ours is Los Angeles (San Fernando), which seems to be pretty slow.
