i know that, i had the yellow one when i applied for my current job. last october i got the one with 'immigration requirement' as a purpose but then i read in the US embassy website that they want the one with travel abroad purposes. i called them asking about it but the CSR told me they dont know, so i tried to email them. what im saying is that the US embassy emailed me back that i should get a new NBI clearance with travel abroad purposes. i really dont know if thats ok, im just basing it on what they told me.

oh well, you can always give it a try. biggrin.gif

you are taking a risk. get another NBI clearance to be sure. Green one.

I think the "immigration requirement" is also in a green paper... is it?

Also, aside from travel abroad purpose there are also VISA USA & TRAVEL USA..

I am planning to get these two (one for the embassy which is VISA USA and one for CFO which is TRAVEL USA) do you think VISA USA and TRAVEL USA is no good??? wherein it actually fits in the process... Travel Abroad could mean going to other places aside from the USA. It's like a general purpose that you will travel outside the PH.

what u think?

Understand your "excitement" and wanting to get things done early, I see you are approaching month five in your wait for the petition approval, still it could be a few weeks or a couple months before the NOA2. The embassy may be just fine with an NBI that is a few months old, but seriously it doesn't take long to get an NBI even if you have a name hit you should have it within 7 business days of request. If you applied for your NBI about the same time you receive the NOA2 you would probably have it before you have the MNL # so that you can actually start the application process.

The embassy instructions letter states they want an NBI for "Travel Abroad". I have never heard of CFO asking to see an NBI.

Just get the one NBI.

I know that in CFO, some were not asked for an NBI, but some were asked.

I know that CFO would prefer to see the original docs but keeps the photocopies.

I know that the Personal Copy of NBI presented at CFO when they ask for it, will suffice

If CFO won't ask for my NBI, then it's fine. if they do and i don't have, then it's my lost

I will be getting 2 NBI's. let's just say it's my own preference... i chose to be over prepared and not just being prepared.

NBI is only P165 and it will take me 1 week to get the clearance because my name is a "hit"

I still believe in being "over-prepared" than just being prepared..

I would not let this P165 causes me stress.

I can also bring this NBI in the US or keep it as my record.

Above all, P330 is not too much on our pocket..

With regards to NBI Clearance "Travel Abroad",

some NBI personnel would ask you what is the purpose of getting an NBI (if u apply directly in their satellite offices),

based on the other threads, when they told the personnel that it is for the interview at the US embassy for the fiance visa and to travel to US, the personnel puts "Travel USA" or "VISA USA" and some even put "Immigration Requirement"

However, in applying for an NBI online, it will be us who will decide on the purpose.

Based on those threads I have been reading here, some used "Travel Abroad" , "Travel USA" , "Visa USA" , "Immigration purposes"

To everyone, here are the links you might want to read:

I think whether we use "Travel Abroad", "Travel USA", "Visa USA" or "Immigration Requirement" is fine as long as we have NO RECORD ON FILE.

These purposes that we can choose were made available for a reason... which means we can use it. But pick the right one.

"Travel USA" is made available for us to choose if we are specifically going to the USA

"VISA USA" is made available if we are dealing with Visas for USA

"Immigration Requirement" is made available if we are dealing with the immigration that requires this document

"Travel Abroad" is made available if we are going to travel in other countries, in which it serves like a general purpose for everyone who will travel outside the Philippines

If in doubt and wants to stay safe, then one can use "Travel Abroad" just like what is stated in USEM's instruction

here's my two cents..

Just get the one NBI.

I just wonder why you kept on telling me that NBI is not even asked in CFO..

you kept on telling this to me whenever i have a post saying that i will be bringing an nbi for CFO seminar

you probably missed those CFO reviews thread whom said that they were asked to present their NBI (and these are K1'ers)

or you forgot those threads where you made a post and did not tell to someone ( who mentioned in that thread that NBI is needed in CFO) that NBI is not needed..

I wonder why I am your "favorite" on this topic about me bringing NBI Clearance at CFO.

you kept on telling me the same thing over and over.

I will not be the only one bringing an NBI clearance to CFO. there were alot already.

whether CFO ask for my NBI or not, i would still bring one. and that's my decision.

you can't change my decision but you might to others..

you have to accept that I prefer to be "over-prepared" than just being prepared.

If the other's don't want to bring an NBI during CFO, then that's there choice. and this is mine.

One's exp does not always apply to everyone.

If your wife or the others did not present an NBI during CFO seminar, then that's their exp. and during my time, CFO "might" ask that from me..

I hope you understand why i want to bring an NBI during CFO.

If not, then just don't mind.

Besides, I am not forcing everyone here to bring an NBI during CFO. it's their choice!

This is just my opinion. It's not in my interest to start a fight or whatever here. I am just letting you know about this. And stop telling me (only me) the same thing about you haven't heard of CFO asking for NBI, bec me, i've heard and i've read...and this is the reason why, i want to bring one. if they ask, then great! i am prepared. if not, then it's still fine.

A "favorite"... doubt it, you just happen to be the one that keeps posting to bring the NBI to CFO.

Being I missed the postings where CFO required a copy of the NBI could you post the links to them?

After CFO post back as to whether CFO asked for a copy of the NBI or not.

Never DO DO when DO will DO.

I don't need to post those links. u can search it on your own.. you have made a lot of posts so i see you everywhere...

I have posted some links before where the beneficiary were asked to present their NBI. you can search it.

I often say i would bring my nbi to CFO but does not pleasing everyone who don't want to bring their NBI.

And you most of the time kept on telling me whenever I post, that you haven't heard of any that CFO asked for NBI.

My opinion here is, it's my choice to bring an NBI to CFO. I've heard you a lot of times already. And you don't need to kept on telling that to me over and over because it should be clear to you now that it is "my choice" to bring an NBI to CFO. If I mention it, that is because I want to bring it. Or better yet, i'll just not mention it at all so u won't see it.

You have once looked at our I129F and made a remark that we don't really need.380+ pages is nothing to 900+ pages of one of the members here and all I can say is just the same, "it's our choice" and our decision. NBI is no big deal whether CFO ask for it or not. P165 is no big deal. I just don't see why you are so concerned about me bringing an NBI at CFO. LOL!

It would be best to get a new one. I know the embassy also will ask for another CEMAR.

Ok thanks! smile.png Oh, God.. I should have requested 2 copies of NBI instead of just one last March, since I am 'HIT' crying.gif .. My CEMAR will be issued next week though.. good.gif
