Hi everyone need help from Filipino peeps who had undergone their interview.

Has anyone experienced that the NBI clearance requested purpose was Immigration Requirement instead of Travel Abroad but still in green paper? Im just wondering if they accepted it.

nervous because my interview will be on Monday, I want to make sure things run smoothly. I called USEM about this and a customer service rep told me that it's all right as long as its in green paper.

yes, its both printed in a green paper but i had the one with immigration purposes but the US embassy emailed me that they need the one with travel abroad as a purpose. try to get it now, its better that way than having a chance to return to submit another NBI clearance. i hope your name has no hit so you can get it on the same day.

i'm jealous youre almost there.

God bless and goodluck. =)

FYI, there are 2 kinds of NBI Clearances:

1. YELLOW - for local employment

2. GREEN - for travel abroad

For immigration purposes, we should get the GREEN one. Regardless of what "purpose" you put on it, as long as you have the green NBI, you'll be fine.

i know that, i had the yellow one when i applied for my current job. last october i got the one with 'immigration requirement' as a purpose but then i read in the US embassy website that they want the one with travel abroad purposes. i called them asking about it but the CSR told me they dont know, so i tried to email them. what im saying is that the US embassy emailed me back that i should get a new NBI clearance with travel abroad purposes. i really dont know if thats ok, im just basing it on what they told me.

oh well, you can always give it a try. :D

Thanks pagong for this info and to everyone who shared their thoughts about my query. Looks like USEM's CSRs are not calibrated with their answers. It says on Embassy info tab here on visa journey :

Other Forms (if any)? Follow USEM Manila Instructions, other documents needed:

- NSO Birth Certificate (get extra copies to bring to the U.S. for later)

- NSO CENOMAR

- NSO CEMAR (for married couples)

"- NBI Clearance Certificate (For Travel Abroad, green paper)"

Thats why I immediately email USEm but then it takes max of 7 days before I can get a response from them so I called instead and was informed that as long as its green paper I should be good. I don't want to run the risk, got another NBI with Travel Abroad purpose this afternoon as soon as I read your post pagong. Glad that it only took me less than 2 hrs to get the clearance no hit! Thanks to my parents who gave me such a complicated name LOL :D Better to be overprepared and to be safe than to be just prepared and to be sorry. But would still ask peeps in USEM on Monday to clarify this and update you guys.
