"front loading" makes sense too. I am getting there. :) That's fine. CEMAR should be simple to get. So glad we do not need the CENOMAR. Only 1 day after joining this site and I am already so much more informed than I have ever been on the subject. We have proven direction now, and that feel good. Thank you all.

I front loaded many things, (after an RFE already occurred), but the CENOMAR/CEMAR wasn't one of them. But given her situation, it sounds like a good plan in your case.

Hello again. Can someone tell me what the CEMAR document looks like? The document we have from NSO a year or so ago shows my fiancé full name and birth date and search results for marriages . It also list her parents names . There was one result and it was her marriage from 10 years ago. Shows location of marriage and bride/groom names. Is this a CEMAR? if so, then we will just need to get a more recent one . Or will the CEMAR actually say on it somewhere "certificate of marriage"?

Thx

Found an image of a CEMAR for you, sounds like you're describing it correctly though. Sorry, I can't tell you how new of a CEMAR you'll need in Japan.

Thank you Caryh. That is exactly the document we have except at the bottom instead of saying "for travel/passport it says "for marriage".

I forgot about that notation they put on them.

My wife and I have not bothered to get ours yet. She came on a K-1, but we registered the marriage with the consulate so it should be noted now. Although we do have an official copy of our Report of Marriage Contracted Abroad now. Been meaning to get the CEMAR to, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Update; My Fiance was finally able to get a copy of her divorce certificate in Japan last week, and we have the CEMAR that shows she was married in the Phils. I had the divorce certificate professionally translated by certified translator. So I am finally filling out the I29 and as you know the area for my Fiance's name has "Family" "First" and "Middle". And it will only let me put the family name in that field. So since she was married her name is INADA Sharon Grace Butawan. How do I fit all of that on the form? Maybe its a dumb question but I just dont want to make any mistakes. And her passport (Phils) shows her married name. Botht the CEMAR and the Divorce cert. show her maiden name. So I am putting her passport name in the name field and I will list her maiden name in the "other names used" field. Does that sound correct?

Thank you

Since my Fiance' has lived and worked in Japan for last 10 years on long term visa . She is filipina. We are finally preparing her I29 along with all docs to frontload it. My question is about police report for her. Does she need to get one from Japan and Phils? Or just Japan? If so, who does she contact over there to get such a document? Thx

I don't know how you fill it out when there's four names and only three boxes. Maybe you can refer to an attached sheet which explains the issue. Just be sure to use her current legal name.

She needs a Japanese police report and she needs an NBI clearance from the Philippines. She will have to have someone get her an NBI clearance before her interview. Maybe one of her family members in the Philippines will run over to the NBI and get it for her. They don't cost very much.

Another question for you experts. I know we need to have passport type photos included with our G325's (fiance and myself) but do we need to have same photos of her 2 sons that will be coming with her to US?

Thanks again

Is there any news about what happened on this case? Coz i have the same problem.. My fiancee is scheduled to be interviewed on the 23rd of dec for k-1, she was married and divorced in japan but never annulled in the philippines. I'm confident that the usem will grant her a visa but my only concern is when she get to CFO. Is there anybody here who had the same situation??

I think the CFO has relaxed their policy regarding foreign divorces in the past couple of years.

Well that's a good news for us.. Its so unfair to those filipinos who has foreign divorce but still cant get married in PI while their ex's has already been moved on with their lives. Thank you for your reply?
