Some reason I could think of is that the couple have been married for long time, such as more than 2 years, or the couple got married in US but went back his/her country for some reason and wait for their visa there.

Any other reason?

There is no reason, it takes how long it takes. Each case is different and circumstances of the individuals involved doesn't have a lot to do with it (ie married x amount of time, or a baby on the way). You want your case to go as quick and smoothly as possible, then have your things together and organized ahead of time. That is the only way under normal circumstances you will be able to speed things up. Sorry I can't give you any better news.

Its just luck of the draw mostly. The don't always do them in order, some adjudicators are faster than others, someone will go on vacation so the stuff sitting on their desk languishes, sometimes stuff gets lost between the mail room and the office....it could be just about anything, including the reglar processes that they go thru.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

You can't really predict why some get approved far ahead of others, but based on my observation it seems some get approved by seeking the assistance of their congressman, senator. While some are lucky enough to get approved within a month if the processing personel at national benefit center happens to be from the same country of origin as the petitional or applicant

Hi,

There is no rhyme or reason to it...we are still waiting for our K-3/k-4 to be approved...its been 3 months now since they recieved our imbra rfe...i called them yesterday...and of course they could tell me nothing, we even had help from our congressman..but tere it sits. In the mean time our cr-1/cr-2 was approved and is now in the queue at the embassy for an interview...so for us the k-3 is a dad issue...i'd still like to know wats up with the wait.
