Hey guys, I am 2 weeks away from traveling. I am practically bouncing off the walls right now. I am so nervous and terrified of the flight. I've done it before but I'm still just as terrified as I was last time LOL. I am so excited and happy to see my sweetheart and this time we will be married. But also apprehensive about the whole marriage process in Morocco. I know it is NOT a simple process. I want it to be easy but I'm worried it will not be. I can't wait to be back in Morocco and see my fiance and his family. But I hate leaving my little dog behind because my other dog just died and I feel guilty leaving her. She is staying with my ex-husband and she is crazy about him and he is crazy about her. But I suffer a bit of guilt and I am still sad over losing my sweet Luigi.

So I am feeling about a million different emotions right now. I guess there is no real purpose to my writing this other than to just get some of these feelings out. Thanks for listening.

I totally understand about leaving behind your dog, my ex husband and my daughter would watch charlie when I would travel to Morocco. However, my last visit, they were out of town and I had to leave charlie in a puppy hotel. OMG, when I went to tour the place, I just felt so guilty to leave him in such a small living area for a week until my daughter got back into town to get him. I asked the lady, do you have bigger cages lol, she said hmm let me show you the puppy suite lol. Well when I left, charlie had a 12x12 room, a twin bed for his favorite blanket from home with a pillow, a basket to be filled with his toys and chewy bones, and to top it off, a T.V. that played animal planet all day lol. This suite package included three daily walks, two hours of play time with others in his category, a daily bath and massage. I probably paid more for his stay as much as a airline ticket to Morocco would cost, but to have that peace of mind was worth every penny spent. If I missed charlie during work hours, they would even skype to show charlie is doing okay. He was treated like a king for sure. When my daughter picked him up, she said he barked at all the dogs while walking down the runway lol as if he was saying his goodbyeslaughing.gif

Congrats and happy soon to be married wishes....

I could see having even more dread about the flight the second go around. I really never want to do that again, but at the same time one can't help but be absolutely thrilled to be soon underway to see their love. :) Wishing you all the best!

Well right now I am officially panicking. My flight is American Airlines Miami to Madrid and the second leg is American Airlines operated by Iberia Madrid to Casablanca. I leave on the 18th. Iberia Airlines is on strike this week and is planning another 5 day strike the 18th through the 22nd. I called Orbitz (who I booked through) and they said that the people who had flights this week were offered the chance to get an flight at an earlier or later date before or after the strike or else they attempted to get them on alternate flights. No decision has been made about the week I am traveling but I was assured they would have to accommodate me. So on top of all the other stresses - my travel plans are all up in the air. If they offer me the chance to go earlier I will head out of here next week. Has anyone else been through this? I am completely freaking out!

That's great they are trying to accommodate people in advance. Many years ago I got stuck in Johannesburg, South Africa for a week because of a British Airways strike in London. Each day they would move us to hotels in sketchier and sketchier parts of town and they weren't comping our meals or transportation. I finally had enough and asked for a refund and bought a rather expensive Lufthansa ticket to get home. Haven't used British Airways since. So worst comes to worst they have to refund your tickets after cancelling the flight if you ask. You can then put that money towards a ticket on a new carrier, one not currently experiencing strikes

On a side note - Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials. I hope it goes smoothly and easily for you so you can maximize the fun with your new husband!

I'm glad to see that they are doing what they can to get you there. When I booked with Expedia once, they didn't have my tickets linked, and my flights got cancelled. Niether Expedia nor Air France would talk to one another, so I spent a day calling each place, being on hold, and being told it was the other's fault(I did that several times each). Needless to say, I paid the $100 cancellation fee and did not go on that trip.

On the up-side... you'll be there with your fiance soon! And you have a great journey while you are there. It will be good to see how he handles all the delays, and any possible set-backs(I hope there aren't any of those). My husband was so calm, and we were so tired.... It was great to see him during stressful situations and how he handled them. So nice to see he didn't lose his cool at all. :energy:

You have had a lot come at you recently, and you are holding up like a true trooper! I look forward to seeing you post that you are married! Hopefully sooner than later.

Thanks HappyToBe,

We will see how Orbitz actually handles the situation when it comes time to travel. I am quite concerned but it is out of my hands right now and I just have to wait and see how this plays out. I am sure I will get there - but it may not be the most pleasant trip of my life.

I can't wait to be married but not looking forward at all to the whole process. I know it can be stressful. My future husband is about as calm a person as I have ever seen. Nothing rattles him. He and I have been in some stressful situations before while I was there and I was so impressed at his calm and his ability to handle things without getting upset. Me - not so much. I have been known to have a complete meltdown sometimes. I hope someday I will learn to be more like him in that respect.

Thanks again. I will post regularly while in Morocco and let everyone know how the process goes and I will definitely let you all know when we are married! Hopefully it will not take long.
