Firstly, as a disclaimer, this is no offense to anyone from any country in the world, or anyone marrying anyone from any country in the world...

...But I encountered these terms today on VJ, "high-fraud" countries, and "low-fraud" countries, with regards to the fiancée/spousal visa process.

Which countries are considered "high" and which countries are considered "low?"

I'm just curious as it relates to my own process and the processes of friends that I have that are going through the same painful waits that I am.

I don't deny that it happens, but generally find it dehumanizing and ridiculous that some people have to feel totally self-conscious about marrying an American because of the place that they come from.

I just wanted to throw this question out there because I honestly don't know which countries are suspicious of fraud in comparison to others.

I am not sure which are high-risk. But Brazil is not, I do know this. Always be thorough as you prepare for the interview, but there are countries with much more rigorous interviews than Brazil.

From what I know, the main high fraud countries are Middle East/North Africa. Western Europe are low fraud, like the UK, France, etc. MENA countries often have to go through a lot more and the majority of those embassies can also be very fussy about accepting co-sponsors and such.

What about Eastern Europe,is it a high fraud one or no? Why they separate countries like this,do they believe that someone will pass all that way of waiting and expecting just for becaming a USC?It is so hard to stay away from the one you love!

Not really sure. I wouldn't say Eastern Europe is high fraud, no. Generally that's MENA countries like I said, the Phillipines, etc. I'm sure no one on here would, but a lot of people would do a lot to have a chance for a life in the USA. The interview with the VSC director that Gary and Alla posted, he said that Western Europe are generally easy.

Well as they say here Nigeria is the Highest fraud on earth, then Pakistan, India, the MENA's (not necessarily in this order). I could really give you my opinion. But if you look at countries that have the hardest time and compare them to other countries people that don't. Well yes there is history but there also is alot of prejudice.

But Brazil no issues. Why would anyone want to leave that beautiful country and isn't the most gorgeous people on earth I read.

Like the above post said, it's countries people wouldn't want to leave really. Like the UK is a first world country with a huge benefits system so there'd be no reason for anyone to emigrate just to seek a better life.

You obviously haven't met my British family.

I think it is just that there is an awareness that in some countries the culture and economic conditions would drive people to perhaps find a way to immigrate to a better country through fraudulent means. Those countries are the ones that you will get thousands of messages from on pen pal sites (most people end up blocking the countries all together) - Nigeria, Morocco, Algeria, etc.

Haha, no I know what you mean, my family are pretty crazy too and I can't wait to start my new life in the US. But yeah, you get what I'm trying to say. Me and my friends get people from those countries you listed all the time like "Ohhh i like your profile picture, i like an older lady" etc lol.

Gosh I remember back in the day (before all this internet stuff) and "Mail order brides" from Philippines and Russia was the big thing. The GI's at the base would come back from the war (vietnam) and have brides and kids and such. Now the world has opened up and the world is your oyster now. hmmmm

The stereotype here are thai brides. I work with someone who bought one of those thai brides. But it does exist. Shame because it makes it harder for genuine couples from those countries.

Philippines doesn't seem like a high fraud country to me. I just got the Fiancee and two of her children k1- k2 visas and the other 2 just got approved today. When the two went today, the Older American gentlemen thanked her for reconsidering bringing the other two with her now instead of 8 months down the road.

I guess if you submit a suspected packet then it makes the stats go up.

That is my two cents...........
