Traveling out of country with extension letter ok?

I will be traveling from Chicago to Mexico in April, I just received my extension letter, and have talked to people on here who have traveled out of the country with extension letter and didnt have a problem, I used the name on my passport to book my ticket which is my maiden name, my new extension letter shows my new last name, the Alien # on my green card matches the extension letter,

I've heard i wont have any issues people do it all the time, just want to make sure its oK!?

also heard that getting an info pass appointment can be useless because the extension letter is whats important and validates the expired green card.

if your traval is international purchase the tickets with the name thats on the passport. it must match,returning back to the united states, show your extension letter original one,and bring along your marrige certificate for insurance,if you got two extension letters with different names then bring both of them togather,you will be fine,

You have everything you need to get back into the US.

The question is, do you have everything you need to get into Mexico? Normally, a LPR can travel to Mexico with a Greencard and passport (no visa required), but I a not sure if the Mexican authorities will accept an expired GC and extension letter for entry to Mexico. I would inquire at the Mexican consulate.
