Does NVC arrange interview time/date for Sydney?

Hi all,

I am a bit confused with different informetion that I am reading on the NVC website and Sydney consulte website. I recieved an email last week from NVC requesting a DR,with that being my DS-230 1 and 2 and supporting documents. I follwed all instructions and sent my birth cert, marriage cert, police check, passport page and two photographs from Australia to NVC. Why does the Sydney consulate website say that said documents have to be sent there once case is closed at NVC. Does the NVC arrange an interview for me like it says on their website or does the Sydney consulte arrange it. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi, Everything has to go through the NVC. You send everything there and they even arrange the interview in Sydney. I just found that out because I emailed Sydney to ask if they can give me an interview time asap. They emailed back and said the the NVC organize the interview time. :-( so I have to wait and be patient.

Thanks Austex, that clears things up for me. At least we don't have to wait for all paperwork to be sent back to Sydney before being assigned an interview date. I have one more question that you may be able to help me with - Once I had a case number assigned, I had my medical done. The doctor said he forwards the results on to the consulate. Is this fine to do so without an interview date or request for medical results. Would the consulate disregard these results? Thankyou once again your response would be much appreciated!

I have heard you can have your medical without an interview date. I haven't booked my medical yet but I have gone and had my injections that I need so I will be prepared. I have heard the medical is only valid for 6-12 months and I just didn't want to pay all that money and then they won't accept it.

Yes I can understand that. I have had mine in the last 3 weeks so fingers crossed I will have an interview well before the 6 month timeframe on the medical is up. I will email the consulate and ask if they can confirm recieving or filing my results. Thanks again Austex.

Can I please ask how long it took you to get an interview once your cases was closed with the NVC? Our cases was closed n Feb 26 and we haven't heard from them since.
