Your logic has some flaws...You're assuming that:

1. If you are an atheist you are not a homophobic;

not true. I have a great friend who was an atheist and terribly homophobic. Most prejudices come from fear of the unknown (aka ignorance).

2. If you believe in some kind of deity, then you are against gay marriage

Congrats. You managed to confuse belief with religion and as a plus you state that people that have a religion are intolerant.

Regarding #1: Sure, it's possible to be both atheist and homophobic. But do you know any atheists who are against gay marriage?

#2: I think the converse was assumed.
