Mags, with all due respect, I can't take something out of context and out of proportion if I quoted it in its entirety. I'm not turning them into anything more than they are....belief in Creationism needs a lack of common sense....and religious people are less tolerant than you.

I'm not trying to cause a fight here cos I think you're a great person, but I did take umbrage with what you said. I didn't do a c&p of your posts and slice them up to suit my needs...I posted them as you left them. Whether or not any subsequent posts say otherwise doesn't negate these two. However, saying that...I will say that on the first page of this thread, I did not think you were being unfair...just posting your preference, which I have absolutely no problem with. But I did think those two posts I quoted were a bit offensive.

Furthermore, I was not stickin up for MarilynP as she is her own person and is quite capable of handling herself. We just happen to seem to somewhat agree on this matter.

Proof? The Old Testament is proved in the New Testament.

Is religion or belief genetic? No, it is taught. Just a believers are taught to believe, based on truth, non-believers are taught not to believe, based on lies and deception. Only 40 people stand between ourselves and Jesus. That really isn't that many generations. Creation, 6 days...yes...six days, but no where is it written that 6 days is 6 24 hour periods.

Seriously though, it's perfectly normal to believe in whatever you want or need to believe in. His strength comes from believing that everything that happens to him is perfectly explainable, that he owns his life. My strength comes from believing that there's someone watching out for me and that I'm not alone.

There's nothing strange about any of that, imo.

Hey, I'm not wanting to start a fight here either! I'm just saying I followed up my original posts with, what I felt was, a more detailed explanation of my intent. I didn't mean to insult or upset anyone with them, and I feel that my follow up posts put everything that I felt in a better perspective. Hence my requoting them.
