is too difficult to filled out the documents?

hello,

Last week I had an interview with an immigration lawyer to find out how much it cost to start the proccess in getting the CR1 approved, she said that her fees is 4500 dollars plus all the fees that applies to each form. it is too difficult to fill out the forms? should I do it myself?

If it is a simple case...(meaning no deportatiom or criminal history) it should be easy. Most of us do it ourselves and we are successful. VJ is great help, read through the guides and the community here is awesome and always willing to help.

It depends on your case. Do you have anything unusual in your relationship that may cause a denial? Has the beneficiary over-stayed? Do they have a ban? Any criminal record for either person? Limited to no time together? Etc...

For a straightforward case, this is pretty easy to do yourself.

As the previous two posters have stated, a straightforward I-130 application is not difficult. As long as your spouse has not had any previous immigration issues, doesn't have a criminal record, and you either have the financial resources to meet the requirements or have a sponsor that does, it shouldn't be an issue. I think there could be a snafu also if YOU have been convicted of certain types of crimes, but again, if you don't have a record either, it's pretty simple. Look at the guides for help.
