hahaha dont feel sorry about urself.. I am already waiting for 11 months.. and it will be the anniversary with USCIS on March26.. Horray for their lameness!!!!!!!

That's so lame . National average target, 5 months ? Sure! 5 dog months maybe.

I wish they'd grant the beneficiaries visitors' visas after 6 months or so.

We don't have infinite number of vacation days per year to visit.

Actually that's not accurate. The "as of" date is pretty much irrelevant. What you want to find is the "Last Updated" date at the top of the processing times, and that shows February 5th. So they will be updating again any day now, since they update the site monthly. When they do (if my priority date is passed) I will be submitting a service request.

Thanks for that.

So basically whatever the updated "Processing Times"(5 months, 7 months, 9 months?) that show up for the I-130, if you fall outside of that, you can file a service request. As a follow-up, what does the service request do for you? Does it expedite your case?

Not a problem. Yes if the processing times table for your service center is past your priority date, then you can submit a service request. It doesn't expedite your petition, but it does tell you if they are working on it, what they are waiting for, if it's with an adjudicator, etc.. And if they should have been working on it but haven't yet, then it will be assigned to someone. If they aren't past your priority date, then they will just tell you to wait longer.

So it doesn't offer a guarantee, but it does help you with understanding where you are at in the process, and can help move things along if you were accidentally overlooked.
