please i will like to know if it is possible.

i did my wedding in Nigeria and i am now in Malaysia, i just want to know if it is possible for me to have my visa interview here in Malaysia, because i don't like the way i am hearing the news of the Nigeria consular visa denying. what can i do to make this happen? i prefer doing it here than wasting the time to go to Nigeria for nothing

You would have to check with the embassy there to see what are the rules and guidelines for interview there. Most countries you have to be a legal resident to interview. So I would contact US Embassy in Malaysia and inquire.

I know there are a few Nigerians here on VJ in Malaysia. Might want to have topic moved to the Africa-Sub Saharan Forum.

Have you already filed your I-130? If noy be sure to use your Malaysian address. You should also change your flag to Malaysia so your questions land in that forum.

Kazulie yes I have heard the same.

OP you have to realize you will still be under scrutiny because you are Nigerian. I would search out in the forum Nigerians who have interviewed there and check it all out. Look at reviews and post there.

Your best option is to prepare. Do you have any trips to each other since you filed petition? Any extra evidence to make your relationship more Bonafide? Add to your DS-230 package you will send in to NVC. Don't assume at interview they will ask or look at anything you bring. That's why we say front-load.

Also look over the below questions and ask did you address this issues if they apply.

The best evidence of course is face time.

  1. Did you front-load your petition with evidence?
  2. Before you filed before how many times you visited him/her and for how long?
  3. How many times you been back since?for how long?
  4. Has he been able to visit you here in the states?
  5. What evidence did he present?
  6. Do you have red flags? age difference, religion, race, divorce, children from previous relationship?

looks like you just submitted the requirements. Did you submit emails, IM's, Phone log to show your communication?

And you really need to get a visit in ASAP before interview. To bad it couldn't be before you file DS-230 so its in CO's hands.

How long have you been together? and how long have you been married?
