Congrats...it is such a long wait...a horrible wait...by the way, way to go Sineadx and Ryan and Amy!!!!!...Some on this website like to "Lord" over everything and condescend to anyone who just has a question. Everyone who gets approved are just excited and (speaking for myself), I find this website quite the task to navigate...not very user friendly in my eyes.

I have to say, I strongly disagree with both of these statements. Sure, maybe a poster isn't going to sugar-coat a response, but then again, I'm not looking for glad-handing. I want a usable answer. Every time I've had a legitimate question, I've had excellent responses and not felt condescended to at all. The guides that are in place are there so that the forums don't get choked up with people asking the same basic questions over and over, which in turn would make the site more difficult to navigate. The search bar allows for very specific terminology, allowing the user to weed out unnecessary threads. It's been an incredibly useful tool for navigating this process. I'm also very grateful to the "long-timers" who still pop in to the forums to share their hard-won experience. I certainly think it's made the process considerably smoother for my husband and I. I was able to research each step of the process extensively and am hoping that I'll have case closure at the end of the week.

OP: I, too, have a year-old baby. Well, 13 months, if you're going to get technical. They just get more and more fun, don't they?

Yes you are right, i have been able to grab a hour or so for this process with a baby. I just wanted a clarification.

Your saying we are 'jumping' on an experienced member, so it's ok to jump on members who have less experience, because thats how it comes across. To be honest its borderline bullying.

I don't expect to ask a question and be patronised. Experienced members should HELP not judge. I should be allowed to ask what i want.

That response was to Tbone.

RyanaAmy:

With regards to the medical. It would make sense then to get the forms from packet 3 sent back to the Embassy, then book my medical. Do this rather than do my medical earlier and get a valid date for my visa, having to then worry about the timeframe.

See, i have took time to research which clearly people think i haven't bothered doing. I just want a clarification.

Whatever works for you, hun (and that's good thinking if you're not in a massive rush). Clearly we're not allowed to answer your points without spoon-feeding you or being ranted about. Seriously, we got called a bunch of "whiny newbies" in that thread I just linked.. thanks guys, make those of us just starting out on the long road feel even better! [/sarcasm]

Thanks RyanaAmy! :)

Oh well I am a whiny Newbie then, lol!

I like to think I have made my point. I just hate anything that comes across as ignorance, not just to me but to others. We are all in this together and so what some questions get repeated. Like you said, when people get their NOA2 approved it does make them excited and want to be ultra prepared. I have researched a lot, I just like that extra bit of reassurance to make sure I haven't missed anything. It's really not a big deal, lol.

I really appreciate your help and patience.

No worries. I think what people aren't seeing is the fact you have educated yourself on the process, you just wanted a bit of reassurance. Which is fine. And if the "Old Guard" don't like one of their number being railed against - deal with it! Anyway.. I think unless there's anything else you can think of, this thread's done before it devolves into an argument regarding helping people. :P

Without the experience of people who have already been there and done that, you wouldn't have a forum in which to search. The initial post made it sound like the OP hadn't done any further research, when they had in fact, done some. If you make yourself out to be uneducated, then get angry you've been taken as so, it seems a bit silly does it not?

I wish the OP a wonderful and successful journey to finally unite their little family. I remember when my daughter was so young. Cherish the moments, they pass all to quickly. BTW, you can certainly ask questions but the more specific you are, the best chance you have at getting the response you desire. :)

No need for the rude comments. I have a year old baby to bring up!! :/

I have an idea I just need it clarified. If you dont have anything nice to say, don't say it!

Congratulations on the baby and your NOA2. Don't feel bad that everything has left your mind. I remember when I got NOA2 and I read all about NVC and what was next for months. I swear I didn't know my own name. You will be with your hunny in no time now. Congrats.

Congrats Sinead! That's wonderful news! My husband and I have filed for the IR-1 visa through Vermont in July so hoping we hear good news soon. Sorry to sound silly but where did you get the vaccination information from? I assume we IR-1 applicants will need the same stuff and I'd like to be as prepared as possible for when our NOA-2 arrives!

Thank you :)
