So, so happy!!! It seems to have been an eternity. :) :)

Can anybody explain to me what I need to do now and what are the next steps? What are the estimate timescales for these steps?

There is hope out there. Hang in there to everybody still waiting, your time will come! :)

No problem hun. When do you expect to receive your NOA2? If it is soon, then I would recommend getting the Police Certificate, it's just one less thing to worry about. The reason I asked you about the NOA2 is because the Police Certificate lasts for a year so you can then judge if you think it will be worth it. I know you need it for your medical.

Hope I helped in some way. :)

We filed in July so should be due our NOA2 soon. I'm going to visit the USA in a few weeks so I'll get the police application filled out and sent off as soon as I get back whether we have the NOA2 by then or not. Is it true you cant book an interview until the embassy have the results of the medical? Thanks

That's great! So your time should be definitely soon! :)

Yes, that is true by what I have heard. The Embassy needs your medical results for the interview.

Thats such a hassle for me because I live in Newcastle, So I have to travel to London, do the medical. Then go back down to London for an interview. Wish I could do it all in the same day.

Like I say, the guides have all the answers!

I liked your response to her question - we should all truly try to help others here, not put them down for asking a question in a forum designed to answer same. Good job!

I couldn't get this one. I got a blood test done instead to prove that I have had chickenpox. To be fair, I think this one is more important when you adjust your status. :)

Congrats Sinead! That's wonderful news! My husband and I have filed for the IR-1 visa through Vermont in July so hoping we hear good news soon. Sorry to sound silly but where did you get the vaccination information from? I assume we IR-1 applicants will need the same stuff and I'd like to be as prepared as possible for when our NOA-2 arrives!

Thank you :)

First of all, congrats!!! I see that you're a UK filer. I found this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/ to be incredibly helpful for getting everything together between the NOA2 and interview. The guides are good too, but that link leads you to very UK specific information. Best of luck!!

No problem hun. It's not a silly question, we are all in this together.:)

If you follow this link, it will take you to the page of the vaccination requirements. http://london.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas/medical-examination.html.

I just saw a Nurse at the Doctors and told her my situation, they just class it as travel vaccinations. I got the Nurse to put in writing what vaccinations I had done. With regards to the Varicella, as I said before I just got a blood test to prove that I am immune to the chickenpox virus.

I remember having my blood taken and my meningitis jab both in the same arm, lol!! I had one bruised arm! :)

Hope that helps you, feel free to ask any other questions. I'm still learning this process as I go along.

Sinead

Just found out a lot about the medical for UK filers. :)

The fee is £227.

Once it is done, it takes 4 working days to get back to the Embassy.

Here is a link to all the info regarding this, including how you get there.http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv018a_medical.pdf

I liked your response to her question - we should all truly try to help others here, not put them down for asking a question in a forum designed to answer same. Good job!

It's the truth, though. Yes, it can get annoying answering the same questions day in, day out. But let's be honest - we all started out needing help of some kind and it's only fair that we help others without making snarky remarks about it. Case in point: Sinead came to ask for some clarifications, now she's helping others out as well. It's Karma.

Also, just while I read the UK forum (which is another source of excellent advice, especially Nich-Nick's thread on the London Embassy) remember that London tend to issue your visa with a validity from the *medical* date, not the date of interview. So if you leave a large space of time between medical and getting everything else sent off, you may cut it close.

"What's yours is mine!"

*** Thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the K-1 Case Progress subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
