Hi everyone! I have question ...

I'm an American citizen via naturalization. I got my citizenship in either 2006 or 2007. I can't find the actual cert to see the date, but I have 3 children (born in 2008,2009,2012) who were all born outside of the US. I'd like to know if I can get them American citizenship (birth aboard)in the country I live Algeria or do I have to take them to the US for them to get US citizenship? I'm not sure if they're eligible. I wrote to the consular where I live, they didn't give me much info ... just that I could file ... I don't see the point to file and pay the fees, if there's a chance they won't get it. Any ideas? Thanks!

You have to get them a CRBA (Consular Report of Birth Abroad). They are eligible because you are a US citizen.

Have you lived in the USA for 5 years before the kids were born and can you prove this (tax filing, old lease, employment records , university transcripts etc)? If so yes, they are elligible for citizenship via CRBA (Consular Report of Birth Abroad). See our CRBA forum here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/154-consular-reports-of-birth-abroad-crba/
