I'm asking the question that forms the title of this topic on behalf of an acquaintance whose I-130 was approved on the 7th of July 2006. Her attorney told her that they had done everything he had been supposed to do in the U.S. and that they would have to wait for their file to reach the local consulate (Bucharest). Her husband also paid all the required taxes, had sent the AoS (I-864) and DS-230 where they were to be sent. She wants to find out how long you think it takes for her petition to get to the consulate. Thank you.
