I'm not sure what the prevailing exchange rate is on any day to Swedish currency, plus we live in Denmark, but how did you DCF folks pay this? Did you just get American money and bring it with?

You can email the embassy to confirm, but at most you can pay with debit/credit cards if they're US issued.

In London we paid with a UK-issued debit card, but we were told hold much the fee was that day and were given the option of paying in cash. You can figure out more or less what it will be before you get there and prepare accordingly. Cards are just easier though.

I always use xe.com to calculate the exchange rate, but bear in mind the consulate may use a slightly different rate. I calculated $230 today is $1,480.21 krona. Order krona at your bank before you go if you want to use cash and give yourself a buffer of say an extra 200 krona for a different rate. Don't forget any courier fees that may need to be paid too.

An update - at Stockholm, you can pay in USD, SEK, or by a card.

We are going to bring the USD in case the card doesn't work. If we don't need it, then we will just bring it to America.
