Ok, so NVC sent the package Oct. 31 to Rio. Rio still says they don't have it. In your experiences, did it really take the 6-8 weeks to arrive in Rio that the woman at the consulate just told me it would!?

Oh yeah I remember that. Well then where the hell is my petition!? Abu effing Dabi!?

If they sent it Oct 31, then it's been 13 days or so..... ok I can give them a little more time. Do you think Rey should just send in packet 3? PS I forgot what goes in packet 3? He knows but he's busy at work...

i think before he sends it in, he has to have the rdj number, and he can't get that till rio gets it......

but if you know when it left nvc, have you tried tracking the package to see where it went?

Alex,

you can email the consulate and ask them if they got your petition. The are very nice and will answer you the next day:

immigrationrio@state.gov

about packet 3: You should wait until they say they have your papers before sending it. This might help:

Good luck and I hope it goes fast

But the RDJ number is the NVC number, isn't it? Our NVC number is like RDJ2006xxxxxx.

How do you track the package from NVC?

I called them and they said they don't have it yet, but I remembered Marcela saying (maybe?) she sent in her packet 3 before they got her petition? I dunno.

1. But the RDJ number is the NVC number, isn't it? Our NVC number is like RDJ2006xxxxxx.

1. Yes

2. If I'm not mistaken you can use the UPS website. Give me a few minutes to do a search and I'll try to find it out. That doesn't help much, though. They can only tell that a package coming to Brasil was sent in a given day.

3. She sent (as many others did) packet 3 before recieving it from the consulate, not before they got her petition. If you do that, you might actually get a delay, as they won't be able to match the packet Rey sends with the files they got from NVC.

4. Breath

Wha? Why did it go to São Paulo? I'm confused. How'd you do it with your package? How did you do what you just did? I'm internet-retarded.

It doesn't make much sense they sending it to SP...They don't deal with immigrant visas at that consulate. Unless they want to save some money :hehe:

Email them again, ask Rey to call, and don't worry, it will be delivered.

I don't know if you've tried this yet...it might help:

The best way to track your case from NVC to Embassy is thru calling DOS # 1-202-663-1225 then 100 this is the operator. You can ask them if the NVC had already forwarded your case to the Embassy and if Embassy had receive. This is what I did rather than tracking DHL as everyone says which is confusing and not accurate.

I got it from this thread:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;#entry34678

And this one explains how to track your files.

Alexa, tell Rey to call them or send an e-mail asking if his petition (RDJ2006 etc) is there and then send his packet 3 sedex 10, it arrives the next day before 10am if he sends before 4pm, but be sure first his petition is there.

Packet 3 includes a picture of him 5x5 or 5x7 showing ears and forehead, forms DS 2001 and DS230 (part1) and a copy of the first 4 pages of his passport.

Since you're getting close I'd also advise him to start with the police certificates and the medical exams so he won't be running doing that close to the interview date.

After he sends the packet 3, he waits one day and call them to be sure it arrived and to find out when will be the interview.

Good luck (F)
