unmarried son becomes married????

Good day! This is a little bit complicated one but i hope somebody here willing to share prior experience...... my brother was petitioned then by my permanent resident father thru unmarried son 21 y/o and above of a permanent resident... now the situation change my father is already a U.S. citizen, and my brother got married? a lot of people say, including a lawyer, that the petitions now void/useless has anybody here had that experience and what is the best solution to it...thanks

if your brother got married AFTER your father became USC . Just provide USCIS with an update of your father's status and your brothers making the dates of the events are clear.

On the otherhand, if your brother married BEFORE you father became USC, then those years, money etc is gone as petition will be automatically revoked by USCIS.

Your father now has to file a new petition for him and your brother goes back to the beginning of the line if the latter is the case

Then the petition was automatically revoked. There is no way to fix it.

Your father can refile and it will be 20 years before your brother an his wife can immigrate to the US.
