Question about my flight

Hi! I just want to ask, because my fiance is th one who booked the ticket for me for delta iarlines but it is under my name. Am i still going to need a copy of his cc and id? Thanks in advance!!

Very possible, better safe than sorry - have him email a copy so you have it just in case. Some have been asked for it some haven't.

I have flown on tickets bought by others, and I have bought others tickets and the only thing they need is for you to have the proper identification to prove you are the person named on the ticket and when travelling internationally, to have your passport and visa (when applicable). I've never heard of an airline requiring the Credit Card or ID of the purchaser before. Hotels require it, and will call for concerts and sporting events, but Airlines are only concerned with the traveler listed on the ticket, not the purchaser.

if anyone has ever been made to show this information, I'd really be interested in hearing the story behind it.

I would add though, if they do require it (which I don't believe they would), it would be in the fine print of the purchase agreement. Read through that and if you don't see anything pertaining to your question, then you are fine.

I guess a better question would be where he purchased the ticket. If he purchased it directly from the airline than there will be no questions asked, but if it was through a travel site or agency, then they may have other rules. I almost always buy direct from the airline. There is too much risk and hassle in dealing with purchases from travel sites sometimes.

That may be more true because your reference is flying from the UK not the Philippines.. but in the Philippines the airlines have asked.

I understand, but I've known people who have done the same from many countries. I was being genuine when I said that I'd like to hear stories from people who have actually had their flight cancelled because someone else bought their ticket and didn't have their information. I'm more curious than anything. Kind of curious if it's certain airlines, certain booking agencies, stuff like that.

Because of the fraud in the Philippines you are almost always asked to show the credit card or a copy of it when flying out of NAIA. I've been thru this quite a few times over the years.

ok, I do understand the reason behind it, but the people I know who are from the phillipines that I've talked to personally have never had this issue when flying family over for visits. Not saying it doesn't, as you said it's happened to you, but just never seen it with those that I've known or myself personally. Is it something that happens most of the time and the people I know have just been lucky, or is it something that only happens during specific circumstances?

I flew from Manila to Brazil and other countries booked under my fiancé's cc but I was never asked of the cc. Just have your passport and documents ready for identification. Have a safe flight and good luck!

Hi, my feeling is that if your a white foreigner you probably won't be asked. If your a Filipino your chances are way higher. Credit cards aren't used here to the extent that they are elsewhere in the world so there is always the suspicion that it maybe fraud.

that is an interesting thought. Made me realize, that the people I know who have done this, are purchasing for mostly family, so both parties are natural born in the phillipines even though some are here and some are there, , and they almost exclusively only buy for family members, so they usually have the same family names, so that may be why it's never been an issue for them.
