Hi guys!

Need your opinion on this.

My USC friend will be traveling to the States some time in April with his USC son and wife.

He is now scared of what will happen to his wife at POE.

His wife holds a B1/B2 visa, married to a USC, has a USC son (through CRBA), around 28 yrs old, hasn't been in the US.

What are the odds that she will be refused entry?

Another thing, is it imperative that she lines up with the non uscs?

Also, the trip is scheduled for 2 weeks - for sight seeing, disneyland , etc.

USC is a dual citizen of the PI. Works and resides in the PI.

Thanks in advance for the response.

I think it will be tricky at POE, but it is just a guess.

I believe that she can go into the USC line since she is accompanying a USC child/husband.

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

I thought so... but... wouldn't the officer think that they[she] are planning to immigrate?

What are the documents she could bring to prove ties?

Do they both live in the Philippines?

It's normal for an expat American to wish to bring his foreign wife to visit his country. I would bring any proof showing 1. the USC's ties to the PI, and then 2. Anything showing the wife's ties to the PI.

Bring evidence of the USC's job in the PI. Bring his PI passport just in case (shows he can legally reside there).

Does she have a job or business there?

Do they own a home or car there?

They're not trying to turn people away at the POEs, their job is to make sure that the people who show up with tourist visas are actually intending to return home.

I'm a USC with a husband holding a B2 since last November. Even when he only used an ESTA they let him go with me through the USC line since we were married. There was even a time when we assumed we had to split up and the lady sorting the lines instructed my husband to accompany me.

As far as questioning goes, they just asked my husband how long he'd be staying and what he'd be doing during his trip. They of course ask the USC if they live abroad and that counts as a pretty strong tie since most people won't just abandon their homes and say they're on vacation. But be sure to bring along rental contracts, utility bills and all that jazz just for safe measure. Just don't pack paperwork like birth/marriage certificates in your checked bags, and don't bring a 6-inch thick folder of evidence since that all looks suspicious.

They just need to bring documents showing they have established life in PI and they are just visiting and would be going back to PI.

As suggested letter from work, docs showing property, vehicles, bank balances etc. would be good.

Which lane to go upon landing best is go as directed every airport has someone who guides you which lane you should go to.

If they ask what the purpose of the visit is I would say, which is true, to visit such and such, meet his relatives (if so). Look happy and on a vacation mode :)

Of course, as suggested by other vj members, have some docs to show ties to the PI in case they want to see some extra proof (and the return ticket!)
