Timeline

I'm going to apply for a Nexus this week. I mean for 50 bucks and you get the fast lane. I'll take it.

No kidding - I keep having people say it's sooo expensive. But think about it. It lasts 5 years so it's just $10 a year and since I'll likely be crossing at the busiest times I will save myself hours and hours not to mention gas sitting in line! So worth it!

January 26, 2015 - Mailed off ROC Application

June 30, 2015 - 10 year greencard in hand

January 25, 2016 - N400 Application Mailed

May 11, 2016 - Citizenship Interview + same-day Oath ceremony!

I think it's one of the best $50 I ever spent and you get Global Entry for "free" (which is usually $100) and TSA PreCheck (which allows you to skip the line; keep your shoes, etc.) - and you get to use your card when you fly in from other destinations too. They didn't have automated kiosks at the Dublin airport US POE, but that's the only place I couldn't use it.

Oh and I forgot to mention this earlier…the card is free for those under 18.

I made sure we got my daughter’s card before she turned 18. She loves skipping the long lines. Not big on patience that one.

Agreed! I've heard the same, that it was expensive, but I think its a pretty good deal as well.
