My wife is Brazilian and would like ot go back to Brazil to visit her family for a month or so. She has a two year Green Card since I brought her over on a CR-1 Visa but her Visa has expired. Does she have to have a valid Visa to get back into the US even though she has a Green Card?

her visa hasn't expired, her green card had. Have you filed for removal of conditions yet?

Nope, her Green Card has not expired. We cannot file for removal of conditions for another year. The expiry date on her Visa has passed.

The unexpired GC and a current passport is all she needs to get back in the US.

Finished!

The visa expired the moment she used it to to enter the country. They endorse it at the POE and it becomes invalid. Kind of like using your ticket to enter the movies. As the others said.... she'll be fine with the GC and passport. :)
