Is it duty-free to bring our Wedding band set to the U.S.?

Hello everybody,

after receiving my K1 Visa I´m traveling to the U.S. and my wonderful fiancé tomorrow.While I was getting ready I came upon one question I haven´t found an answer to.

Do I need to pay a duty for our wedding band set when I´m entering the U.S. at the POE?. I purchased it out here in Germany 2 months ago. Both rings are made of white gold 333 and mine is having a brilliant 0,015ct. I will definitely take the receipt, just in case the border control officer wants to see it. If I do have to pay a duty, can you please tell me how much it´s going to be?

They are part of your personal possessions moving with you to the USA, so you're fine. I just wouldn't put them in your checked luggage.

Maybe not on a K-1....not supposed to be married...they might think you are?

CITIZENSHIP: 

Biometrics appointment for 2020-03-27 has been cancelled until further notice as all field offices are closed because of COVID-19.

***NOA dated 12/10/2020 USCIS stated they are able to reuse previous Biometrics***

Interview was easy. My hubby's Oath Ceremony is scheduled for February 25th. I can't watch >sad< but happy he is getting his certificate!

I dunno about you but I have 8 fingers and 2 thumbs. I'm sure I could pick a different finger that could wear a ring. ;)
