To jsem0n,

Sounds like your file was approved and sent to storage in Missouri but they forgot to process the card for you. You are right in that if there were issues, it would still be in Hartford. Typical government bureaucrats. I urge you to watch them like a hawk and follow up every 10 days or so until you get your card. We have our InfoPass appointment two weeks from now.

Hey guys, me again! :)

So, we had another infopass appointment on Aug 22. The officer told me that he got our case back and had a supervisor review it. He said that they needed additional information and we would be receiving a letter in the mail requesting this. We got the letter in the mail a couple days later, requesting additional information for the I-864 form. I have to send a copy of my 2012 W-2, a copy of my last three pay stubs and a letter of employment from my employer.

I have no problem with the first two items, however I work for a small company (and have for the past 6.5 years). I have talked with my boss and he is not sure what should be included in the letter as he's never had been in the situation. I never asked for it because I understood that it was only for those here on a work visa requesting residency.

Regardless, I need a sample. I found a couple online but they don't include much information. He was thinking to just say:

To whom it may concern:

This letter is to confirm that [my name] has been a full-time employee at [company name] since [date of employment] as a [job title]

Should you have any questions, please contact the undersigned.

Is this enough? Who should the letter be addressed to, in general?

One last thing - where am I supposed to send this information to. There is an address in the top right corner of the letter for the Hartford office, but it doesn't specify a room number, etc. Do I have to make an infopass appointment and deliver the information to them directly?

Thanks all!

-J

I think I'm good on the letter. After doing some research, I found many that say it just needs to be a signed letter from my job stating my length of employment and salary.

So, I just need to know if I need to hand deliver this to an officer at an infopass appointment or if I should mail it. I'm thinking hand-deliver... What do you guys think?
