As a July 17th filer, I can say that service requests don't do much and that although the wait sucks, there really are still people before the posted date, with uncomplicated petitions (he is from England and has been here on multiple H2B visas with no problem and has never overstayed and we have known each other for years) still waiting. Your petition isn't lost, but from what I can gather from my congressman and the tier 2 people on the USCIS call center, they have not been processing many applications that were not expedited. I fact, if you look at their posted data they processed less than half of the number of petitions they normally process in December. It isn't any fun and it definitely isn't easy, but your petition isn't lost, they are just working very slowly through other petitions.

Oh gosh reading that is really depressing ...As an August 7th filer I was praying that if we at least had the chance to file a service request there may be some hope. Have you heard any news since you posted this message? Looking at the USCIS page today and the processing times really brought me to my breaking point. Since we've filed the national average has gone from 6 to 10.2 months! This is getting absurd! At what point do we have any recourse? Its quite possibly the worst feeling in the world knowing that your happiness (and that of your partner's) is dependent upon a bureaucracy that probably couldn't care less. It takes a special kind of person and a special kind of love to work through all the barriers that we face in an international, distance relationship.. Having this be yet another obstacle to overcome (and being so helpless in addressing it) is too cruel. I just pray that things miraculously start moving along sometime soon. Please let me know if you have heard any news..

Hang in there. We will get to the front of the line one day. That's what I keep telling myself anyway :)

I doubt you are going to be able to do a service request...I filed July 26 at CSC and it won't let me. They say they are currently processing July 18 so "we aren't outside of normal processing time." Browse the other recent posts related to CSC and July filers and you will see what is going on and what you can expect.

We wonder how many July 18th filers out there besides from this website.

I'm july 17th. So since January I've tried 3 service requests. You get nothing from then. It's in the adjudicator room, we are overloaded, please try again in 120 days is what you get.

The receipt date is used to determine if the processing date has reached you. The recipt date is usually no more than 2 days prior to the Notice of Action date (unless holidays or weekends come into play). In your case your NOA2 date (as shown in your timeline) is July 26. The receipt date should be July 24. Also your time line shows that you sent your petition on July 17th. If so then July 17th cannot be your receipt date.

(This is my first post in the forum! yay :star: )

:wow: so you all have a receipt date of July 2012? Oh my gosh :( ... My receipt date for NOA1 is December 24, 2012. I was honestly hoping to get my NOA2 by July 2013 at the latest but seeing as how things are going, that may be wishful thinking... I am doing all I can to contact the ombudsman, my senators, congressman and request for expedite. At least if I exhaust every option then perhaps someone will listen? I wish you all the best of luck and honestly hope that the CSC gets their act together because waiting 8 months for the NOA2 is OUTRAGEOUS , especially when they set their goal at 5 months, and the "average" is 6.6 months.

All the best :)

Sincerely,
Ramsey

Well the national average is at 8.9 months and CSC at 7.5 months but we know in most cases now they are taking longer than that. If CSC speeds up, which we are told that they should be doing (when is the question there!) then July isn't out of the question but just do not make any plans that can't be changed.

Yeah it sucks, was hoping to be with my fiance this summer but now am hoping we will be together for Christmas.

Thanks for the support, Oregon Bound! You are right, I did read somewhere that they claimed they were trying to speed up the process because it is getting way out of hand so I hope they come through with that. In the meantime, all we can do is wish for the best. I saw that you got your NOA1 last August...if that is the case then I don't see why you wouldn't get your approval this summer so you are reunited with your fiance! After all, they are working on the July 18, 2012 decisions right now (that's what they told me yesterday). I wish you the best of luck hun, hang in there :)

Sincerely,
Ramsey

They have been quoting July 18th processing since January. The only people that seem to be getting their NOA2's from CSC just now is the ones that have had their congressmans office intervene. Even if I did get my NOA2 right now, it's still about another 3 months before the visa interview and receipt of it. That takes us into July then tie up loose ends add another month :( Yea will be lucky if we get there for Christmas. It's a nightmare!

That's interesting because they told me we should hear something within two weeks and what was funny and interesting to me was that the tier 2 officer said wow u r out of processing times and you should have been gotten your NOA 2 and so he put me on hold for a while and put in a request for me without even listening to my concern. I guess I got lucky :)

UGH how did you get tier 2?! they have been telling me for months that i should hear within 2 weeks! I'm getting so irritated!

hmmm u gotta ask for tier 2 when you call the USCIS tell them that you would like to talk to tier 2 regarding your case and they will put you on hold for like about 1 hour or 45 mins just make sure your phone has enough charge and be patience. once you talk to them, just ask for service request i hope you hear a good news soon... this is just the beginning because i got my NOA2 one and half weeks ago and still it hasnt reached to NVC which is weird because it takes only 2 days for uscis to ship and nvc to recieve the documents anyways goodluck dear and hope you get your approval soon :)
