Gauged ears, passport pics

Excuse me if this seems odd to ask but....

my fiancé (beneficiary) has gauged ears/stretched ears.

They are pretty big in diameter, probably like 2" diameter.

Now, I started to wonder what he should do for his passport pics.

I have no problem with them at all, but I want to know if he, for the passport pics, should remove the ear expansions he wears or leave them in??

Also for the interview, do you think a close minded official would deny the visa based on piercings? Should he NOT wear them for the interview?

I don't know what ear expansions are, but for the photos (as well as the interview itself), I think its best to remove them. He won't be denied a visa because of piercings but just to look neat and professional (I'm not saying he isn't neat.. no offense) he should just take them off.

Oh no offense taken, trust me.

Even HE said he wanted to remove them for both the pics & the interview because in his words "he wanted to look presentable and normal" haha

Thanks! :)

Yeah, "presentable" was the word I'm thinking of.

I wanted to add: is it true that they ask you during your physical exam if you have any piercings?

If so, and you state YES....would it be a problem then to take out the piercings/earring for the pictures?

I just don't want them to think he's trying to hide something or ALTER his appearance.

How can he hide them if they are 2" in diameter? Aren't they going to look worse without the piercings in?

You won't get denied for having piercings - that is silly. His ear lobes are going to be like hanging string, but I suppose they would be less noticeable like that than with a huge plug in it for the photos.

Thanks a lot for the replies.

I tend to over think and worry!

But yeah, I'm going to tell him to just leave them in.

I asked about my piercings for the X-Ray. The technician said they were fine, just no necklaces allowed. I was not asked about any other piercings during my medical exam.
