Can my fiancee move?

We are waiting for the NOA2, its been 6 months, and he is almost done with school (in India, we are going through New Delhi). Worst case he may need to leave to get a job while we are waiting for further instruction. The hard part is not knowing WHEN we are getting the NOA2, to be able to time everything just right. He is expected to graduate in a few months, and if he is done with school before we get the next step, his student visa will expire. He will need to get a job, and possibly move away (back home? another place?). Praying that CSC get things moving soon!!!

We are at the 6 month mark for NOA1, IF he needs to move during this stage, is it easy to change address and/or embassy?

THANK YOU :clock:

Yes your fiance can move before the NOA2. As long as he's not moving to the USA. ;)

I believe you can call and do it.

So you think I just call? no problem?

or do you think this will create more delays in our process?

he would most likely move back to his home country. is it easier to file through ones home country?

see, this is very same situation in me n my fiancee is, but someone advised us to better not move, bcoz it will raise many questions at the time of interview n may be put into AP, n its blind road to see anything may be for years, so think twice before u make any decession..................

best of luck

This is interesting but in my case (beneficiary/fiancee) i moved few days after we got our NOA1. But in my g325A i wrote a letter stating that if they would mail something for me, i want it to be sent to my permanent address since where i am living now is not really my permanent address and mails here do get lost. i hope everything will be fine with u too.

The municipality where my now-husband lived re-addressed the houses (and re-streeted his corner house--effectively changing the address completely except for the postal code and city). When I called, I was told that this is not a big deal at all and calling is cool. Because it takes sooooo cotton-picking long for anything to happen with USCIS, people end up moving all the time.

Be sure that the applicant gets notifications to help ensure that you can know what is going on. Most people do have success with the online status checking and/or cell phone notices. (These are not perfect, though--some folks never show up on the online status check--if you don't it is not a reason to worry, but if it does work for you, all the better!)

Good luck!

thanks, i should call uscis and ask them if they prefer any additional info. but if a simple call fixes it, then ok. considering getting a lawyer for the advice, to see if it takes longer, if we should start over, if it raises questions, or what have you. the move will require a change of country / embassy to his home country. again i am not sure if this will help us, or be a plus (being in his home country)
