Changing Address at NVC Stage

The thread found here reads that all I need to do is submit an email with the following format:

Date

Beneficiary Name

Beneficiary Date of Birth:

Petitioner Name:

Petitioner Date of Birth:

Case Number:

I, NAME OF PETITIONER, the petitioner of the above case number would like to inform that my physical mailing address has changed. Below is the correct mailing address:

NAME

ADDRESS

CITY STATE ZIP

PHONE NUMBER

Please kindly make the above changes.

Thank you,

Anyone know if this is still accurate?

The thread found here reads that all I need to do is fill out the DS-230 with my new address and NVC will have updated my address. Some have also suggested calling the NVC after sending the forms in with the new info.

Does anyone know what the best way to change your address with NVC is? I will be moving back to Sarnia to see family while I wait out the visa process and I just want to make sure that I don't have any hiccups. It took VSC 3 months to change my address by mail, so if I send in my request right now they will probably not process the change of address until I'm already in the NVC stage. PROBABLY. Though, I'll try not to give VSC too much credit since I might not be approved in a few months. Who knows?

So my question is, "What's the best way to change my address with NVC?"

It appears no one knows the answer. I'll just have to call NVC when I get to that stage (if I'm at that stage when I move back to Sarnia).

Yes, I changed my address at the NVC stage - send NVC an email exactly as it is above on the "quote" with your case nr, petitioners name, address, date of birth etc and then the beneficiary's name, adress, date of birth etc.

You really have to be very precisie with them - as an extra precaution what I wrote in the email was :

Beneficiary's OR Petitioners NEW Address

your name

your old address

Beneficiary's OR Petitioners OLD Address

your name

your old address

PLEASE CONFIRM CHANGE OF ADDRESS

Thanks

I didn't realize this thread was from February 2013- but for anyone else wondering (person above me)....

I did exactly what goodbuck25 stated here. I requested NVC change my (I am the petitioner) address through email and they never replied back to me. After about two weeks I called to see if they had even received my email. Fortunately they did, and they had changed my address for me, I just wish I would have gotten a response. So just send out your email, and if you don't get a reply give it two weeks or so and call them. :)

Thanks for the reply, for real? They did not even sent out any email saying they changed it. I am the Beneficiary though and My address is really important during NVC stage because of the interview but will try to check with them from time to time.

No, I did not receive an email response after requesting a change of address. I have emailed them 3-4 times about various things and I have never received any replies. When I called NVC they apologized but that was it. At least my address was changed. Since you are the beneficiary, just make sure to call and check that it has been changed. :)

Also, if you are changing your address through mail, like someone suggested: I sent in a copy of my passport to ATTN: DR to change my last name to my husband's last name and they have had it for over a month now and have not changed my last name. I have called many times and they just say that they received *a* document in mid April and that's all they can really say... So, I'm glad I chose the email way to change my address because it takes them a while to physically view documents and letters sent to them. :P

i sent them an email though because i noticed that it would take more time if i snail mail it. I have to call them because we have been stuck with NVC for over 5 months because of this change of address thing. I just need them to really confirm the change of address so that we could continue with the process. Btw, regarding the mailing of the required documents to them it doesnt take them a long time to process it, right? Any tips on how to compile the documents for AOS and the IV documents? :)

Hi Guys,

We got our NOA2 at the end of June so we are expecting the next step sometime soon. I, the beneficiary, will be attending interview in the Bahamas as I now live and work in the Cayman Islands and this is my closest embassy, when we filed I gave my UK address. My question is, is it essential that I update my address? I don't want to delay anything and since I have someone in the UK who can open my mail it seems unnecessary right now. Will there be anything mailed to me that I will need the original copy of?

Thanks!

C

Hi Charlotte,

As a beneficiary, the packet 3 which is the checklist of your required documents for the interview and the packet 4 which is your medical instructions and interview date will be mailed to you. I think it is important that you change your address to where you live now. But first call NVC. Good luck.

Lea
