Td booster

I am confused over how this is worded on Dr. Howard Seiden & Associates website:

"You must have proof of a Td booster within the 4 weeks prior to your immigration medical"

Does this mean that can have it done anytime before my medical- (example: 4 months prior to the medical appt?)

Or does it have to be administered within the 4 weeks leading up to the appointment?

The wording is poor. If it said "proof of having received a booster," it would be clearer. Someone here can answer, or you might call the provider directly.

I'm not sure what the 4 weeks means or why its worded like that since the booster is only every 10 years. I had mine done after the medical. Imo jut get it from any walk in clinic its free and have them put it in your vaccination book.

Dr. Cheema’s website says this: Tdap (Adacel or Boosterix) - ensure you get Tdap not just Td

I had my Td booster but have an appointment to get the Tdap.

I hate needles.

I just had my dTap. I doubt there's a difference between that and Tdap. LOL My arm was sore all day today. Ugh. Soon I'll get my measles and mumps serology back so that I can see if I still have immunity to them.

JustBreathe: you're missing all the "or" in the section you're reading:

An initial series of three immunizations, which are normally received in childhood at ages 2, 4 and 6 months and a booster immunization within the last 10 years must be documented.

or

If you have no proof of a primary series you must begin an adult series of TWO doses of Td 4 to 8 weeks apart with a third dose 6 to 12 months after the second. You must be as up-to-date as possible with your series at the time of your immigration medical.

or

You must have proof of a Td booster within the 4 weeks prior to your immigration medical.

or

An antibody titers blood test showing proof of immunity to tetanus and diphtheria.

So at that clinic they want you to show that you had the shots as a child, or do the adult version, or show you had a booster within a month of the medical or have a blood test that shows you have the immunity. You can do any of those to prove you have immunity and not have the shots at the medical.

You need a Tdap booster every 10 years. If you haven't had it in 10 years you need to have it done before your medical. Also, make sure you get Tdap NOT Td.

I just got a titer test. If it shows I'm not immune to it, then they will have to give me a booster.
