Hello all. I entered my receipt number today on the USCIS website, and it said "Post Decision Acvitity" which skipped the "Initial Review" and "Decision". I'm confused. I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet, but the website said:

On February 22, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

Is this normal?

That was a big delay between you sending and them receiving. Did you mail from Portugal? That may be why auto-expedite maybe.

Well either way congratulations. Now come to the NVC filers thread read Post #1 and #2

So he's approved? It was that quick? No interview? No biometrics? or does that still come? I'm so confused. Is the message I pasted in my original post indicative of an approved application meaning he's well on his way to coming here...like soon? I didn't get anything in the mail or via text saying Initial Review...Decision....nothing. Just straight to "Post Decision Activity?" So, when I'm trying to do my timeline on visajourney, it says to click all these things and THEN, at the very end, approval. Are you saying that I've skipped all that and can just click on "Approval?" if so, then HOT DIGGITY DAMN! Still confused....and apprehensive to count chickens yet.... Doesn't it just mean that they APPROVED the petition? or does that mean they approved the whole thing? UGH. :bonk:

no no no... Your PETITION is approved. It will be forwarded to the NVC where you submit the AOS (affidavit of support) fees and documents and the IV (Immigrant Visa) fees and documents. I-864 is the AOS form. It has documents that you need to send with it (tax transcript, pay stubs etc...) DS-230 is the form he will be filling out for with the IV application and will need to send his original long form birth certificate and other documents required with that form. He doesn't complete biometrics, he has a medical and then an interview at the consulate/embassy after the case is completed at the NVC.
