so in summary, There have been 2 recorded incidents since 1934 of legal machineguns used in a crime.

i'd call that pretty good odds. questionable is the one with the police officer

"This officer purchased and registered his MAC-11 submachine gun for use as a police officer, complying with the law. Officer Waller claimed it was an accident, but was convicted of murder along with an accomplice (Hills 1)."

in any event, both occurred in ohio. avoid ohio and one should be safe. :hehe:

Then there is this:

MACHINE GUN STOLEN, UNDERCOVER AGENTS’ NAMES EXPOSED AFTER BOTCHED ATF STING — NOW LAWMAKERS DEMAND ANSWERS

Feb. 1, 2013

For 10 months, ATF agents in Milwaukee ran a storefront operation meant to bust criminals for gun and drug violations. But the operation inside the phony store “Fearless Distributing” didn’t take down any major drug dealers or gang members — instead, the store was robbed of $35,000 worth of merchandise, an agent’s machine gun was stolen, and a document with the names and phone numbers of undercover agents was left behind after the operation was shut down, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

The search continues for the still-missing M-4 .223-caliber fully automatic rifle and another handgun stolen out of an agent’s Ford Explorer.

Police looking for stolen machine gun

and

About 28,690 machine guns are registered in Texas

In 2005, five machine guns were stolen from an unlocked vehicle belonging to a Woodlands gun dealer who had been at the shooting range and left them when he parked in front of his home. They were later found.

I am sorry Charles. It seems that some people have missed the point. When a nutbag in Vermont (yes they are everywhere, not just California)introduced legislation to take away our rights, it was immediately touted here in this forum by the "clip and magazine are the same thing" crowd. I was simply setting the record straight as they will not.

The 2nd attempt to take away our firearms has been withdrawn in humiliation, though this one DID get three times the "support" Yeah, THREE house reps who will need another job next year.

It was not my intent to enter a conversation with someone that thinks "clip" and "magazine" are the same thing, or wants to limit the number of "bullets" either can hold or thinks that a marketing plan is Federal Law. Such a thing would simply annoy me.

Faced with such facts as the embarrassing withdrawal of an attempt to take away rights, such a person has no defense but to deflect to something else unrelated...machine guns? A downgrade from the usual "concealed thermonuclear device" argument to be sure

As a MOD you should probably just remove the posts as "off topic" No doubt, such a person believes "autoloader", "Automatic" and "semi-automatic" are all the same thing because 100 million morons think so...PLUS it is on wiki. I suggest such people go eat a steaming pile of dogsh*t because 3 billion flies can't be wrong!

So to re-cap the good news, the Vermont legislature is once again free of any attempts to squash our FREEDOM. And another generation of legislators has been reminded..."Oh, THAT's why we don't discuss gun laws"

I like the quote from one of our Reps in the local newspaper regarding this..."Unthinkable" was his remark.

The good news is that OUR children will continue to be safe, our homes will continue to be safe, we can still safely walk anywhere at any time and we will not be threatened with loss of our way of life such as those of our neighbors who restrict assault weapons, and do not allow good people to carry guns, New York, Massachusetts and Quebec all have enormously high crime rates compared to Vermont and New Hampshire (our "Live Free or Die" neighbor) that allows the ownership of firearms and carrying of loaded (with cartridges)handguns.

Now tonight is the Mardi Gras in Burlington...(yeah leave it Burlington to have Mardi Gras on a SATURDAY and DURING Lent...we are like that) Alla and I will wander all around the city tonight until the wee hours completely safe, having fun, dancing, enjoying music, having some good food and enjoying life. We will safely walk home. It promises not to be too cold tonight! (gotta pray for global warming)

We can do this because everyone can carry a gun.

This certainly reflects the prejudice gun owners see. I was reading an interesting study on firearm use in the home and mock trials. The trials centered around home attacks and the victim shooting the attacker.

What they found was that women who were proficient shooters were more likely to be harshly treated. The theory is that they are outside typical gender roles and therefore receive less favor.

Likewise with scenarios being equal the victim received more or less favor based on how scary the firearm used was. The mini 14 was used in the study along side an AR 15. An Ar 15 user was treated more harshly than a mini 14 user despite the fact that both firearms are similar with the exception of aesthetics.

Burlington VT.

Thousands of armed Vermont citizens took to the streets yesterday for the annual Mardi Gras parade and consumed a record amount of alcoholic beverages and flooded into the streets until after 3am Sunday morning. Armed, intoxicated citizens were everywhere!

No one was hurt. No one was robbed. No one was murdered.

Obama says the reason is because they have small penises.

People with small brains believe that (PLUS think a clip and a magazine are the same thing)
