Have you guys heard anything yet? Been thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way.

Absolute nonsense. Again I would look at the filing for citizenship option since it has been so long for your ROC.

Gary is right. At least you know that it was received. Start doing your research to see what the next steps are going to be.

Although there is only so much you can do do prep ahead. We have everything ready for the next step. Just waiting for them to ask for the police certificate and medical. Cant really book the medical until then. Also have everything i can have at this stage prepped for the interview. Dont really want to do police certificate yet, as i want it to be as up to date as possible when they ask for it.I made photocopies of everything too :)

We are being patient though, but anxious too! :)

Rascalcat, once the petition gets approved then things start to really fly. I called NVC every day to see when the consulate received our K1 packet and then sent out packet 3. After I did that, I called NVC every day to see if Montreal logged it into the system and once they did, I then stalked the website to see when the first available appointment was. I didn't even wait for the instructions for packet 3 and 4 to arrive, I just went ahead and followed information on the K1 Canadina forum.

It is the waiting for approval of the petition that really sucks. Once that approval comes, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Another thing worrying me is the price of flights. It seems the prices have risen a lot. A flight to the U.S.A for my any baby would cost a total of around $3220.00 (off peak) :wow: just checked it out on Expidia.. and apparently thats the best rate going! Madness!!

*for me and baby

i think we will have spent enough to purchased a house on the whole process by the time the visa and greencard process has finished!

IS this for a round trip ticket or a one-way? I checked on flights from LHR to DEN and can get a flight for two people for around $1600 if you buy the RT and then do not use the return leg--just cancel it. You will keep about $1500 in your bank account. The price you are quoting is less than what I am finding for the wife and me to goto Kazakhstan this summer. So I know you can find cheaper from London to the US. I found a flight from LHR to MSP for about $1500 for two, but I do not know your criteria for layovers and all that. I was using Travelocity, but they are as good as Expedia.

Good luck,

Dave

Thing is, i am travelling with a 1yr old, so it would be better to have a short layover. Most of the layovers are very long for a cranky tired baby. I will have to look on Travelocity though and see whats available. Would love to find something cheaper

OMG! So frustrating! Have you considered getting your congressman involved? It just seems to be taking way too long.

I think we are beyond the help of a congressman. It's not like we are waiting to get him here, just to get the renewed greencard. People keep asking why don't we just apply for the citizenship. For one thing we just paid out the $590 for the ROC and truthfully we wanted to wait at least a year or so before he applied for citizenship. Now it's looking we may have to take the $680 for citizenship and hire an immigration lawyer. Specially if it gets to the point we need to file for an appeal.

30-60 days wait for the decision of the interview we had on the 2/13/13. Say a prayer, it's really trying my patience and my nerves!

I will. Like you said at least he is already here. David is planning to wait until 5 yrs because it is easier to apply for citizenship then but I don't think it is any cheaper.

I'm wondering if the service centers will clear the backlog before they begin amnesty cases? I hope so otherwise it is like those folks jump the que.

I really hope you guys hear something soon.
