Recieving Notices and Touches

It seems tracking the progress of the application is pretty easy from the sounds of everyone's post, but as we havent sent ours out yet, I'm wondering how it works.

If we include an email on the I129, do they email you when things happen (NOA1, touches, NOA2 etc)...

...Or is there some sort of application number you recieve and login, like a tracking software on the site?

We are curious as not sure either of us will necessarily be near our snail mail much. Hoping we can access and log our progress via computer.

They don't send you any emails until you sign up on their site. Go to this site:

https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/login.jsp

and set up an account with

them. You will not be able to add cases to your account until you get your receipt number (can be found on NOA1 or on the back of your cashed check if you're able to view it online). Then, you can click the "email on" button, and they will send you email updates about your case. Best of luck!

Just curious - would this mean they will not forward a hard copy in snail mail? or do they do that as well as send us emails?
