My I-129F was just received

I sent my I-129F yesterday and was received and signed for today what should I expect now?

Wait for at least 6 months for either an RFE or an approval. The will send you a NOA1 letter in the mail. When you receive it there is a identification number on it. Go to USCIS.gov website and put that number in and it will tell you the status of your application. Don't expect any changes for about 6 months.

Did also send the form for the email/text notification?

They received my I-129F February 17th and they sent me the email/text on the 21st that it was accepted. You get that with the WAC number so you can look up the status at the USCIS website.

The way it is going at the moment, you shouldn't expect much at all for at least 6 months. So planning another trip to visit your fiance may be something you should start planning (I know I did as 6 months was waay to long for me to wait without being together at least for a week or so).

Realize that the processing times are quite fluid and USCIS is currently operating like a one-armed wallpaper hanger.

Also, just a little thing I haven't seen mentioned yet, most (if not all) new applications seem to receive a notice saying that the Alien Registration Number has changed shortly after the application is received (I got that online before I got my hard copy of the NOA1, but each case is different). When you receive this, don't get too excited or worried, it's just a normal part of the process now and doesn't speed or slow the process of getting the NOA2. Just figured I'd let you know it was coming as it's frequently asked about

The NOA1 usually comes pretty quick, sometimes within a week after they have received it. But that isn't the longest wait, which is waiting for the NOA2. Have patience and endure the long wait because it will ALL be worth it in the end.
